Language & Development of Reading (DMT 106)

A multi - sensory approach that combines phonics, stories and language experiences to bring meaning to the learning of reading and writing. The Montessori system does not require your child to learn by heart, but utilizes all his senses to help him read and write with proper understanding.

Discovering language becomes interesting, fun and creative through activities in the Pink, Blue and Green Montessori language series. The learning of language is truly the child's most remarkable intellectual achievement, and yet it is accomplished rapidly in a very short time span. This course assists practitioners to employ a multi-sensory approach to teaching reading and writing.

Course Objectives

• To understand language development.
• To discuss with students the organisation of language exercises and the Montessori environment for such exercises.
• To introduce classroom techniques and methodology suitable for language teaching of young children.
• To introduce Montessori apparatus suitable for language teaching.
