Setting the Standard for Montessori Teacher Training in Nigeria

Diploma in Montessori Method of Education(DMT)

Professional Montessori Teacher Training for Children Aged 2½ – 6 Years

The Diploma in Montessori Method of Education (DMT) at Modern Montessori International (MMI) Nigeria is a professional teacher training programme designed for individuals who want to become Montessori educators for children aged 2½ to 6 years.

This diploma course prepares students to work as Montessori class directresses or classroom teachers, guiding young children through the Montessori approach to learning.

The programme combines Montessori philosophy, child development theory, and practical classroom techniques, equipping future teachers with the knowledge and skills required to create structured, nurturing learning environments where children can thrive.

Program Overview

The Diploma in Montessori Method of Education introduces learners to the Montessori educational philosophy developed by Dr. Maria Montessori and its practical application in early childhood classrooms.

Students will learn how to guide children through hands-on learning experiences that support the development of independence, concentration, creativity, and confidence.

This programme focuses on the developmental stage between 2½ and 6 years, a critical period in which children build foundational skills in language, mathematics, social development, and problem-solving.

The DMT diploma is also the required prerequisite for students who wish to progress to the Advanced Diploma in Montessori Method of Education (ADMT) for teaching children aged 6–9 years.
