The Montessori Certificate in Infant and Toddler Care (MCIT) offered by Modern Montessori International (MMI) Nigeria is designed for caregivers and teachers who want to develop professional skills in caring for and educating infants and toddlers from 2 months to 36 months.
This certificate programme introduces learners to the Montessori philosophy of early childhood development, equipping them with the knowledge and practical techniques required to nurture young children during their earliest and most critical stages of growth.
The MCIT programme is ideal for individuals who want to work in daycare centres, nurseries, early childhood education centres, or home-based childcare environments.
Program Overview
The Montessori Certificate in Infant and Toddler Care focuses on understanding the developmental needs of children during the first three years of life.
This stage is crucial for the development of movement, communication, independence, and emotional security. Through the Montessori approach, caregivers learn how to create environments that support healthy development and encourage natural curiosity.
Students in this programme will learn how to:
•Understand infant and toddler developmental milestones
•Create safe and stimulating learning environments
•Support early language and communication development
•Encourage independence and self-confidence in young children
